The Annual School Leaders Summit (SLS) is an initiative of National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA) that brings together multiple stakeholders representing diverse interest groups — investors, thought leaders, education service providers, affordable school leaders, and private schools association heads from more than 20 states — to discuss challenges and deep dive into issues that confront the budget private schools (BPS) sector in India. Through formal and informal interactions between these stakeholders, the Summit aims to collectively identify
opportunities and avenues for growth and improvement of BPS in India.
The central theme for third annual NISA SLS 2014 is Advocacy for BPS. This year’s Summit will bring government, media and regulatory bodies together to share their perceptions with respect to private education in general, and the BPS sector in particular. NISA’s close interaction with BPS shows that these three stakeholders have the maximum potential to have long-lasting impact on the sector. Therefore, the Summit will deep-dive into issues and strategies to enable these stakeholders to work independently, and collectively towards ensuring that every child has the choice of quality education at an affordable price.

National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA) is a platform that brings together budget private schools (BPS) from across the country to give them a unified voice to address their concerns about legislations and laws that apply to them and to facilitate quality improvement in schools. Since its inception, NISA has grown into an organisation to represent over 36,400 schools across 20 states of India.
NISA is based on a membership model, open to school owners, school associations and service providers who are in the affordable education space. It offers a vast range of benefits to its members, including access to a nationwide advocacy campaign, the opportunity to raise awareness and be a part of the change-making process, exposure to a large network of professionals and the opportunity to learn from them, and access to latest research, policy analysis, and training workshops.
