Fake Enrollment: Just tip of the iceberg

Patna,(BiharTimes): Ever since the fake enrollment scam was exposed last week the state government has repeatedly been claiming that it was because of its efforts that such a big fraud could be detected. The government has every right to make such a claim, but it remained a mystery as to how the media of the state failed to notice a scam involving millions of parents.

Sprawling upmarket campuses of privately managed schools of Odisha are likely to see a change in composition of pupils as the State government has decided to enforce 25 per cent reservation for children belonging to weaker and disadvantaged groups of the society from the next academic session.

Right to Education Act came into force in Odisha from 1st April 2010. Like right to life, the Act got legal status under Article 21 (a) of the Indian Constitution.
Odisha has progressed in implementation in many ways like formation of SCPCR, notified state rules of RTE ,Guidelines for SMCs and an enrolment drive to government schools in the state.

Children in State can now claim right to education

The State government has finally notified the rules under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.
While the notification was published in the Government gazette dated November 12, the rules were displayed in the public domain (www.tn.gov.in) on Tuesday evening.
